If you have over 10 years of work experience, you might benefit from an Executive MBA, as opposed to a full-time or part-time MBA program. MBA programs for executives are geared towards mid-level managers, and offer a top-quality education combined with access to a network of accomplished individuals. As most Executive MBA students are sponsored by their employers, you are certain to build relationships with individuals who are on the fast track at their companies, and are very likely to become decision-makers in their organizations.

No-GMAT Executive MBA Program?
Some top EMBA programs such as Columbia and Wharton require even EMBA applicants to take the GMAT; other programs, including NYU TRIUM and Kellogg, do not usually require it. The requirements change from year to year and waivers are granted on an individual basis, depending on your education and professional background.
Executive MBA Application Process
Executive MBA programs often offer a pre-evaluation phase, in which you send in your resume and schedule an initial interview with the admissions officer. While this may sound like a zero-risk phase, it isn’t. The initial evaluation can determine your success in the process, as the first impression you make on the admissions committee is likely to last throughout the admissions cycle. You want to make sure that your resume, as well as the way you present yourself, is in line with the program’s expectations for their executives.
Executive MBA Essay Questions
As for the questions you need to answer as part of the EMBA application, they are not as trivial as they seem and require a different style and approach from the full- or part-time MBA application. While this is true for all candidates, it is even more critical for entrepreneurs and candidates who come from a family business.

“Our first conversation was exactly what I needed. She was very calming. Yeal was very flexible and worked around my schedule to get our sessions in. I felt like she cared very much about my story and pushed me to think about my vision. By the time the deadlines came, I was confident that my application told my unique story. The Wharton Executive MBA Program thought so too! I know I could not have done it without Yael. I highly recommend her.”
” Despite my low undergrad GPA ( < 3.0), Yael helped me position myself to highlight my strengths and present myself in the best light to the admissions committees. I originally was only going to apply to NYU Stern part-time, but Yael encouraged me to give Columbia EMBA a shot. I was accepted into both programs and will be attending Columbia starting May 2013. Without Yael’s help, I don’t think I would have been accepted into either program! If you are seeking advice or help with your applications, I highly encourage you to consider Yael.”
“Yael transformed my resume so much that my belief in the value of having professional help shot up. The next step was to get the essays done before the first deadline in December. Yael kept pushing me and reminding me of the upcoming deadline. Now that I have gone through Chicago Booth’s rigorous application process, I feel it was necessary to have someone guiding me and keeping me on track. I remember calling Yael on weekends when she was taking care of her kids and she still made most of those calls productive. My hectic travel schedule also caused multiple last-minute changes, but Yael was very understanding and accommodated my requests.”
