The Wharton Lauder MBA/MA joint degree offers students to beef up their MBA studies with a focus on global business in a specific area/culture. The available tracks are currently Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish.

Is Wharton Lauder MBA/MA for you ?
In order to answer this question you should have a clear idea about your career goals (which in general is necessary to get into top MBA programs).

Unlike regular most top MBA program, you will need to write an MA research project/paper, complete  language courses and meet the exit-level language requirement. You also need to be the kind of person who enjoys writing a research paper throughout your MBA studies – this is way more than a regular class project, and requires significant effort in addition to everything else.

In the past, The Wharton/Lauder program required students to submit a thesis, but since 2010 the requirement is for a cross-culture team project. This is probably a bit easier and better fit for MBA/MA students who need to combine regular MBA requirements, ex-curricular activities and the job search.

Class size: approximately 60 students per year – including both MBA/MA and JD/MBA students. This is an extremely competitive program, but if you get in you’re in very good company.
