Internships often get little if any attention on MBA applications, perhaps because most applicants’ significant experience is more interesting and impressive than that summer you spent making copies and checking footnotes.
Still, if you have a good internship story, you should consider including it. This is especially true for younger candidates and seniors applying for HBS 2+2 programs. The assumption about internships is that you are mostly shadowing people and engaging in limited-responsibly projects, so if your experience was different, it would make an interesting story.
You may be able to mine your internship experiences for interesting stories on themes like the connection between theory and practice, joining the workforce, culture shock, coming of age, and more.
