For the last 8 years or so, my favorite MBA application essay has been NYU Stern’s Essay 3 – the Personal Expression question: “Please describe yourself to your MBA classmates. You may use almost any method to convey your message (e.g., words, illustrations). Feel free to be creative.”
This year, I have found a new MBA essay question that I truly enjoy answering (and so do most of my students). It is Duke’s “25 Random Things” essay.
Why? Well, what’s not to like about an MBA essay that’s easy to write and doesn’t require a lot of stressing out? If you are applying for Duke’s MBA program this year, be inspired – read some ideas from Duke’s MBA Admissions team and student blogs. You can start and finish this essay today, and focus your energy on the other (and more sophisticated) questions Duke has included in this year’s application.
